For nearly the last year I have been working almost exclusively for ITV working on re-fits to the Love Island Villa for multiple seasons.

Working with Production Designer Patrick Watson, I have been producing models, visuals and construction drawings for each series’ re-fit of the villas. The winter seasons (Love Island: All-Stars) take place in South Africa and the summer seasons take place in Mallorca. I have had the pleasure of working in both of these locations, helping Construction Manager Matt Dyson bring the visuals to reality.

Launched in spring 2026 on Channel 4,‍ The Hunt ‍was an original reality/challenge format in which contestants are split into 2 teams and battle it out in the wilderness for cash prizes.

In 2025 I had the opportunity to work in the beautiful Balkan mountain range in Bulgaria on this new show for Channel 4, produced by CPL Productions and Adventure Films.

Working for Production Designer Stephen Bryce, we were tasked with designing and managing the build of the HQ building, both interior and exterior. We worked directly with Channel 4 to give the place a mix of hunting lodge and funky sci-fi vibes. 

Thank you to our local Art Director Alex Todorova for helping put this together, we would have been so lost without you! And thank you to the build team headed up by Venko Georgiev, and to construction company TED House for building the exterior.

All aboard the U5 to Honow in Apple's latest series of Hijack starring Idris Elba!

In 2024 I worked on this series overseeing the replication of a F-class Berlin U-Bahn train in which a large proportion of this series takes place.

A whole lot of painstaking work went into recreating these carriages, it was one of the most labour-intensive builds I've ever been part of.

In this reality/challenge show, contestants trek through the Malaysian wilderness trying to avoid being tempted by creature comforts being offered to them at the world's most expensive prices!

Had a blast out in Langkawi last year with Production Designer Stephen Bryce and the lovely folk at Voltage TV and Revolution Media. Thank you to Michael Wong, Evy Yap and the whole build team. Also, Razzi Chan and his amazing dressing team.

In early 2023 I had the pleasure of working with Production Designer Stephen Bryce and 72 Films to film sections of their Bond-themed reality/challenge series 007: Road To A Million.

In 2024 we returned for work on a second season, converting a room in the Freemasons Grand Lodge in London into an MI6-style ops room for Mr Cox’s presenter links. As well as this we set up a series of challenges for the London based section of the shoot.

Had a lot of fun working on this and hope audiences enjoy it when it releases on Amazon Prime this Autumn.

The Red Dwarf special aired in April 2020. It was an amazing experience to work on the show I grew up watching and have such fond memories of.

Working again with Dominic Roberts, we have put together a series of new sets as well as restoring the old sets from the previous series.

The set renders on this page were published in SFX magazine in March 2020.

Early 2022 I stepped in for a stretch on Apple TV’s upcoming dystopian series “Silo” as Set-Dec Art Director. In my time on the show I designed and facilitated the manufacture of a number of props which appear throughout the series.

For season 2 of Netflix’s Heartstopper, I was asked to help put together the “prom” for the series finale. Production Designer: Carys Beard

For the Waitrose “It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas” campaign, we filmed a host of vignettes across several farm locations across the country. This included honey being extracted from beehives, fence-posts being hammered and ice being broken on a pig-trough (not an easy thing to film in 20°C sunshine). We went to a vineyard, an apple orchard, a sprout field and a cattle farm. Some of these locations were filmed on John Lewis - Waitrose’s own Leckford Estate.

As well as this, we had a great time working with farm machinery.

There was also a Christmas Dinner scene…

The Sports Direct “Give Me Football” campaign comprised of 3 parodies of cliche’d Christmas Commercial archetypes. Specifically; The Pretentious Perfume ad, The Smart-Home Device and the traditional Christmas Dinner Set Up.

We built sets for the “Family Dinner” and Eau De Footie” ads while the “Directa” commercial was shot on location. You can see the set build in a time-lapse at my Youtube channel here: https://youtu.be/4vUB6Zqwkqk

For Sam Smith and Disclosure's 2012 breakout single "Latch" I was responsible for the design and construction of the elevator set, complete with sliding doors and "sprinkler system" water effects.

For the latest season of Top Boy for Netflix, I worked with Production Designer Carly Reddin and Art Director Stacey Dickinson.

I was brought in to arrange a selection of set builds, these were a full council flat with an adjoining corridor and 2 rooms to a terrace house that was rigged with fire effects for a house-fire sequence. Special effects were care of Colin Gorry.

Following the series, I worked with Stink films to make the announcement film that was released ahead of the full trailer.

In late 2021 I had the pleasure of working with Production Designer Laura Ellis Cricks and Production Company Drool to make the “what’s Your Thing?” campaign for DFS.

Set construction was managed by Dragon Smoke Construction and props and effects were done by Matter SFX.

In 2019 I worked on the second season of Hanna for Amazon. Working again with Production Designer Carly Reddin and Supervising Art Director Dominic Roberts.

As well as putting together dressing plans for all of the UK locations, I oversaw the build for the “War Games” sequence in which we used reclaimed timber to build paintball-style structures and rigged an old Land Rover with SFX pyrotechnics.

Included in the pictures is a log-cabin that was drawn and overseen by Senior Art Director Louisa Morris. Although I hadn’t drawn this myself, I did assist in surveying the woodland location and working out the build.

In 2021 I had the pleasure of designing the hero dollshouse for More4’s miniature themed challenge show “The Great Big Tiny Design Challenge”.

Working with Production Designer Stephen Bryce and the Producers at Yeti TV, I got involved in figuring out the layout of the house which affected the pace and running order of the series.

In Summer 2021 I was given the job I’ve dreamed about since I was about 7, to design and build a real-life video-game race track. For the “challenge of the week” in BBC3’s first episode of their youth-orientated motoring show, “Gassed-Up”, I did just that!

With the help of Matt Dyson and his team, and taking inspiration from video-games old and new, we dressed a military training village with a variety of decorations, lighting features and obstacles for the UTV buggies to navigate around (sometimes through).

In late 2020 I got the opportunity to work on series 2 of Netflix’s hit reality show Too Hot To Handle. Not exactly something I was expecting during a pandemic.

Working with Production Designer Patrick Watson and Construction Manager Matt Dyson, we transformed an existing villa on the Turks and Caicos Islands into a functioning Reality TV living space.

This involved installing truss that had to be measured to fit into each main room and sent out from a supplier in the UK, then clad in a way that fits into the environment. We also had to build-in cable-runs all over the villa, these were worked into the design of the rooms and the exterior canopies.

I also got to make use of Unreal Engine for this production to make animated fly-through visuals to give a better understanding of the layout of the villa. There will be more about this in the “Virtual Environments” section of this website.

Channel 4's 2015 network-spanning dramas about Manchester's LGBT community Cucumber, Banana and Tofu had interconnecting characters, locations and plot lines. My involvement as Assistant Art Director, to Monica Black and Bobbie Cousins, was in providing technical drawings to the construction crew of our warehouse-conversion in Manchester.

I was involved with the Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother for about 3 years, in which I’d worked on re-designs for the house each season, the Diary Room designs and the re-fit of the Big Brother’s Bit On The Side sets. This is where I learned the ropes of Light-Entertainment set design, as well as developed my CAD and 3D design skills.

The chair in particular, seen above in both it’s finished and un-clad forms, was made of 240 pieces of birch ply that had to be CNC-cut to fit together perfectly.

Cancer Research's 2013 commercial, directed by Frank Budgen was a mix of effects shots and inserts shot on location at the national Cancer Research Centre in West London. My input as Trainee Art Director for Julia Sherborne was in the facilitating the effects shots, sourcing materials and dressing the laboratory location.
